After reading an article on astrology, specifically Mercury going retrograde, vocalist Ryan Culleton became fascinated with the idea that “forces outside our control or understanding are negatively affecting our day to day lives. Musically, composer Shannon Coulomb deviates from his usual stylistic preference with a conceptual, cinematic piece built on dark synths and tripped out vocals. The song was completed days before the world went into lockdown for Covid-19, and the decision to release quite a dark song, at a time when people need as much positivity in their lives, was quelled by a flood of support from their local fanbase in Auckland, New Zealand, to get it out there.
